Panel physicians are medical doctors who are permitted by governments to do immigration medical evaluations of migrants. They implement screening guidelines required by the governments of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. They are a diverse network of medical professionals and engage with local communities and individual immigration applicants.
Panel Physicians implement the Technical Instructions for the examination of migrants for each destination country. The technical instructions and requirements vary from country to country and also depends on the visa type of each migrant. They must follow the technical instructions and guidelines.
They work with the international public health and migration experts to protect the community’s health and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. They report infectious cases to governments of respective countries as well as locally according to guidelines of country.
Approved panel physicians
Panel physicians are approved doctors and radiologists to perform chest x-rays and medical examinations for New Zealand visa applications.
For your immigration application if you need a chest X-ray or a medical examination, you can select a physician or radiologist from our approved list.
If you are in New Zealand, you are also required to use a panel physician.
If you are based in New Zealand and you only need a chest X-ray you must visit a panel medical clinic. They will:
- Create a health case for you, and
- Refer you to a panel radiology clinic to get the chest X-ray.
