Healthy students are eligible to obtain a New Zealand visa according to immigration New Zealand. According to your stay in New Zealand and from where you belong, you have to provide certificates of medical for immigration application.
Who are required to produce certificates of medical for immigration?
While applying you have to show your medical history. Chest X-ray or other health certificates are required to produce that depends upon:
- Whether a student is domestic or an international fee paying student.
- From where you belong.
- Where you live, and
- Length of stay in New Zealand.
Conditions for a Chest X-ray:
While applying, chest X-ray should be less than three months. Some people do not need to produce a chest X-ray in following cases;
If you are pregnant
If you are under 11 years, or
If you have already submitted this information to immigration New Zealand within 3 years.
How to get a Medical Certificate?
You have to visit a panel of physicians. They will ask about your medical history and will perform physical and mental examination.
Medical certificates must be less than 3 months old while applying for a visa.
What if you don’t meet the health standards?
In case your healthcare expenses are exceeding, your application for visa will be turned down.
Where can you go for a medical examination?
If you are in New Zealand, any therapeutic practitioner holding a Current Annual Practicing Certificate issued by the New Zealand Medical Council may perform the medical examination and complete the medical certificate.
Outside New Zealand, in other countries, we have a selected panel of physicians or institutions which must be used for medical examination.
