109 Doctors is one of the authorized New Zealand immigration panel doctors qualified to perform immigration medical assessments for your visa.
What's to bring
When coming for the Immigration Medical checkup, please bring:
- Your original valid passport (guardian’s photo ID is required for under 18 years old)
- A list of your medication (name and dosage)
- A list of your medical conditions, including latest medical reports if any.
- Glasses if any
- Ultrasound report or midwife report with due date (if pregnant)
- Well child booklet for babies less than 12 month old and born in NZ
- Bring an interpreter if required. Our team can speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Please note:
- No medical exam can be processed without currently valid passport
- Copy of passport or expired passport is not accepted
Immigration Medical Checkup Process
- Fill up immigration Medical assessment form and your photo taken
- We will create a file and set up immigration medical exam Health case number on NZ eMedical system
- Chest X-ray We are contracted with Auckland Radiology Group. There is a branch just a 1-minute walk from our medical centre, and no appointment is needed. Additionally, there are six other branches you can visit for your X-ray. Check here for their locations.
- It is helpful to wear clothes that are easy to pull on and off. Don’t wear jewellery.
- If you are pregnant, please bring confirmation of pregnancy (midwife report with due date or ultrasound report in English)
- Urine test Urine tests are not performed during menstruation, 7 days after menstruation/period finished is suggested.
- If the first urine test shows abnormal, the 2nd urine test will be required at extra cost
- If 2nd test also fail, urine sample may be sent to the Awanui lab for testing at extra cost.
- Limited medical doesn’t have urine test
- Blood test No fasting required Further test maybe required if initial blood test shows abnormal, additional cost will apply.
- Nurse assessment Height Weight Blood Pressure Visual Acuity/ Eye test (glasses may require) Any test shows abnormal, a doctor’s review and report will be required.
- Doctor assessment Regular body check for all ages 45yr old or over female: breast exam is required, we will provide female chaperon. 70yr old or over: cognitive test or RUDAS is required For any abnormal findings, a doctor’s review and report will be required
- Medical exam Completion and submission: The completed immigration medical examination case will be submit to immigration NZ via eMedical system within 48 hours. For urgent submission, an extra fee will apply.
